There are things that bother us without quite becoming problems. Nothing is obviously wrong. You are going to work. You are answering messages. You are making plans. You are getting things done. And yet, every now and then, something catches. You open your phone to check one message and twenty minutes later you're looking at someone else's life wondering what happened to yours. You have already made a decision, but somehow you are making it again. You say something completely ordinary to someone you care about. Their face changes. You spend the rest of the evening trying to work out what you said wrong. Or you take three days off, sleep properly, come back, and discover that you're tired again by Wednesday.
